At the heart of every family-operated business is a story of tradition, skill, and trust. Dryer Vent King honors these values, having been born from the dedication and expertise passed down by a father to his sons. Owned and operated with pride by Eric and Scott Guckin, our company is more than just a service; it’s a testament to our father’s legacy.
Our commitment to excellence is personal. Every vent we inspect, every ounce of lint we remove, and every customer we serve is an extension of our family values. We don’t just clean vents, we uphold a standard of living, ensuring that each household can breathe easier, knowing that their dryer system is in expert hands.
As a young boy in the mid-1980's, Eric regularly joined his dad, Paul W. Guckin, on appliance repair service calls throughout the Philadelphia Metro region.
In January 1992, at age 16 and a junior at Neshaminy High School, Eric started training as an appliance technician in his dad's repair shop located in Bristol, Pa. Shortly thereafter, he began a career as an appliance repair service technician.
In September 1997, at 22 years old, Eric and his younger brother Scott bought out Paul's appliance repair company. Paul decided it was time to retire after nearly 35 years in the business.
In April 1998, Eric bought out Scott's share in the company. After a few years of explosive growth, Eric asked his dad to come out of retirement to assist with the day-to-day operations of the company. They worked together many years.
By 2007, Eric grew the appliance repair company into a multi-million dollar corporation with 20+ employees.
In June 2018, Eric's father Paul, passed away suddenly. He was 78 years old.
In December 2018, and after 26 years in the business, Eric made the difficult decision and sold the appliance repair company.
Over the years, Eric had developed a passion for fire safety. After personally servicing thousands of dryers and witnessing hundreds of dryer lint fires, he decided to use his experience and focus 100% of his attention exclusively on dryer vent systems.
Eric formed a new company, Dryer Vent King, to serve the Philadelphia Metro community. Complete fire safety is the mission.
